Welcome to ‘Making the Grade: Secrets for success in KS2 (SATs) and 11+ English Reading and Writing 2017’.
Before we tell you about this guide, we must tell you what it is not. It is not a text book. Throughout the KS2 English Language course, teachers will select engaging and appropriate materials to develop students’ reading and writing skills.
Our aims in producing this guide are to complement the teaching and learning taking place in classrooms and to help students to reach their full potential.
In the heat of an examination it can be easy to panic and fail to give the examiners what they are asking for. In this guide we aim to make clear the skills being assessed by the examiners and to set out techniques to help students to provide positive responses to the examination questions.
