Past SATs Papers KS2 Maths – What Are Level 6 SATs?
Past SATs papers KS2 maths may be something you have searched online if your child is getting ready to take their Year 6 SATs. However, you may be a bit unaware of what SATs are and why they are important. For an introduction to this set of exams, read on.
Level 6 SATs were re-introduced in 2012, after an absence of ten years, yet they have since been discontinued and replaced with a uniform SAT for all students. The Government initially introduced these exams in order to stretch the most able pupils. The results of KS2 maths papers will not define a child’s future. In fact, the results are more for the benefit of the school. Nonetheless, there is no denying that it is good for parents and children to get an idea of how the student is performing academically so they can spot areas of strength and weakness. As you may have seen on the news, there have been some changes to KS2 exams. Now, all children are going to take the same SAT papers. Previously, the child’s ability would have been taken into account and only the best pupils would be put forward for Level 6 SATs. Instead, kids are now going to all take the same SAT exam, but there are going to be some questions that have a higher difficulty level. These questions are designed to stretch children that would have been entered for level 6 SATs in the past.
